Prada Is Leaving Milan For Its Next Menswear Show
Following the news that Anthony Vaccarello would be heading to LA to present Saint Laurent’s SS20 menswear collection, Prada has today announced that it would also be moving locations for its next collection. Rather than staging its show in Milan, designer Miuccia Prada will be taking the label to Shanghai – the first time a menswear collection for the house will be presented outside of its native of Italy. “China has always occupied a prominent place in Prada’s imagination: in particular, the city of Shanghai and its rich cultural life,” Miuccia explains on the choice of location. “The attitude and identity of Shanghai, its dynamic fusions of past and present, old and new, are sources of constant exchange and interest.” The show will coincide with the 40th anniversary of the twinning of Milan and Shanghai.
