by Stephen Garner

Menswear trade show Project will kick off the fall/winter ’19 season with the debut of N:OW at the New York show along with its first trend program produced by niche publication Cool Hunting. Project New York will be held during the men’s marketplace in NYC, running alongside MRket, January 20 – 22 at the Javits Center.

For its second season, N:OW, will hold fashion forums and trend presentations curated by WGSN that delve into the current state of menswear and ignite conversations that are pushing the culture forward.

“Coming off of a successful launch of N:OW this summer in Las Vegas, its debut in New York was a natural progression,” said Jason Peskin, men’s brand director at Informa, the parent company of Project. “N:OW will continue to evolve the traditional tradeshow and birth a fresh event experience for both brands and attendees in NY with Highsnobiety providing special coverage of it all.”

Menswear experts Mordechai Rubinstein a.k.a. Mr. Mort, Highsnobiety’s editor in chief Jeff Carvalho, Rowing Blazers founder Jack Carlson and Moose Knuckles’ creative director Steff Hoff among others, will lend their voice to the daily panels.

WSGN’s senior consultant and forecaster Brian Trunzo spearheaded the development of programming for 2019 with the Project Team. “The programming for the New York show has been influenced heavily by the east coast perspective developing a unique identity for each marketplace,” he said. “Panels and forums will address the cultural creators of New York’s downtown scene, the great prep revival, and future of streetwear.”

Brand highlights for N:OW New York include, Strapped Los Angeles, Atomic Mission Gear, The People Vs., and éS footwear. N:OW at Project will be located within the Project show floor and live alongside the elevated designer platform The Tents, and The Foundry, which houses a curated selection of refined men’s apparel and home goods.

Cool Hunting will be curating a list of its favorite items to find on the Project floor, then sharing it with retailers as a fun way to discover new products. Cool Hunting at Project aims to direct retailers to vendors and reward them for visiting and viewing the items with a collection of prizes.

The publication will also host a lounge and present Cool Hunting at Project, a first-ever interactive way for buyers to connect, make discoveries, collect prizes, and more at Project. Brands, prizes and further information will be provided closer to the show, and include Herman Miller, Sister City hotel, the new hotel from Ace Hotel Group, Arlo Skye luggage, Rhone, Courant, Troubadour and more.
