RALPH LAUREN TO REISSUE ICONIC POLO CP-93 NAUTICAL COLLECTION
Ralph Lauren has announced the next phase in its series of iconic reissues: the Polo CP-93 capsule collections. Inspired by the brand’s 1992 sponsorship of the America’s Cup in San Diego, California, and the nautical collection that followed in 1993, the new, reimagined styles reflect the bold, sporting spirit of the originals.
As an official outfitter of the America’s Cup in 1992, Ralph Lauren designed the uniforms for the American team, including the “CP RL-92” logo. The uniform apparel quickly acquired a passionate following, and a year later Ralph Lauren debuted the CP-93 collection, with a “CP RL-93” logo to match.
Releasing in May, the Polo CP-93 limited-edition capsule comprises 24 reimagined styles, inspired by the original collection and early ’90s scarf designs with sailing and Riviera-inspired prints. Bold primary colors, allover graphic prints, sailing motifs, and the iconic “CP RL-93” logo appear across the capsule.
Standout items include a print nylon windbreaker, featuring a boat-race scene; drawstring swim trunks with an allover nautical signal flag print; a bold, oversize color-blocked pullover with coordinating track pants; and a crest-embroidered camp hat. The classic Polo shirt is also reinterpreted for this collection in a mashup of iconic graphics and stripes inspired by the original collection.
The limited-edition Polo CP-93 collection will be available beginning May 31 at RalphLauren.com, select global Polo Ralph Lauren stores, and select specialty stores, along with an exclusive print available only at Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s. A more widely distributed Polo CP-93 collection composed of men’s, women’s, and kids’ items launched mid-April, and is available at RalphLauren.com, global Polo Ralph Lauren stores, and global retail partners.
