REIGNING CHAMP AND DESIGNER JIDE OSIFESO REUNITE FOR ‘SEASON TWO’ COLLECTION

by Stephen Garner

Premium athleticwear powerhouse Reigning Champ, in collaboration with designer Jide Osifeso is set to launch its “Season Two” collection tomorrow.

Handcrafted entirely in Canada, the collection overall maintains a mix of refined, boxy silhouettes – made from heavyweight knits, robust technical fabrics, and contrasting textures. The designer’s experimental seam-work creates unconventional draping, while enlarged graphic artwork mirrors the generously proportioned cuts found throughout the collection. Osifeso cites the unpredictable climate of the Pacific Northwest as a lasting point of reference for his adaptable, ongoing range of utilitarian-focused sportswear.

Nigerian-born photographer, Stephen Tayo, shot Season Two on location in his hometown of Lagos. Known for his vivid documentarian style, Tayo street-casts friends and acquaintances in a set of evocative, textile- layered portraits. Tayo’s visual works have graced publications such as Vogue, Dazed, and The New York Times as well as various projects and gallery exhibitions abroad.

Retailing between $120 and $300, this limited release will be available starting August 26th at all Reigning Champ flagship stores, End Clothing, select Nordstrom stores, Lane Crawford, Holt Renfrew, Browns London, Worksout Korea, Harry Rosen, and online at endclothing.com, and reigningchamp.com.
