Shoe, accessory, and lifestyle brand Res Ipsa opened its second freestanding resort store right before the holiday season, this time choosing the luxurious mountain resort of Aspen, Colorado.

The 450-square-foot store is located in the historic Ute City Bank building, which was built in 1859, and now serves as the home to several luxury retailers, including Valentino. It will sell the complete Res Ipsa collection of slippers, sneakers, and chukka boots made from vintage Turkish kilim rugs as well as luggage, bags, and other small accessories such as wallets and key chains.

The opening of the store also launches the brands foray into apparel with a capsule collection of outerwear inspired by the owners and co-founders Josh Moore and Odini Gogo’s world travels.

Res Ipsa Aspen will also carry a curated selection of other brands including: Brackish feather bow ties, Swedish menswear brand OAS, fragrance from Fulton & Roark, candles from Abbott, shirting from Bonvivants, woven belts from Beltology, knitwear from Isobel & Cleo, Cowichan sweaters from Canadian Sweater Company, outerwear from Cockpit, and various accessories from Craighill and Hook & Albert.

“After our overwhelming success in Nantucket, Aspen was the natural choice to be the winter home to Res Ipsa,” said Moore and Gogo in a joint statement. “We see many familiar faces from the island up here and are also developing a whole new customer base, the sophisticated and sporty ruggedness of Aspen is the perfect location for the Res Ipsa brand.”

Presiding over the store are two bucks, made from vintage Hudson Bay blankets that Gogo and Moore commissioned exclusively for the store, they have been appropriately nicknamed “Hudson” and “Bae”.
