SATURDAYS NYC RELEASES 10TH ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION

by Stephen Garner

Saturdays NYC has unveiled its 10th Anniversary collection for the fall/winter 2019 season. The collection reflects on three concepts: the brand’s transition, movement, and memories over the past decade.

Classic Saturdays styles such as the Everyday Classic Sweater and the Miguel Sweater are updated with the use of speckled yarn in multiple hues of saffron, ocean green, and navy and incorporate lux threads like lambswool. Popular styles such as the William Moleskin Parka are also elevated this season, with the addition of an M-51 style fishtail and royal air force pockets. New details were also applied to the Harrison Cord Jacket and the Coney Cord Pant by way of hand-splattered bleach, making each piece unique to the wearer.

Prints this season include the Decades Print—to symbolize memories—the floral Transition print and the Moon Phase print, which reflect the brand’s evolution during the past ten years. The prints adorn iconic Saturdays styles like the Marco and Canty shirts, Timothy swim shorts and Trent shorts. To pay homage to the 10th anniversary, a printed “10” label marks all printed tops and outerwear.

Special commemorative items also make a cameo in this collection. Key items include a collaborative 10th-anniversary bag with Porter Yoshida that will be available in the U.S, Japan, and Australia and sunglasses by Japanese eyewear brand Eyevol for the U.S and Japanese markets.

The fall/winter 2019 collection will be available at all Japanese and Australian Saturdays stores from August 2nd, followed by August 8th for all U.S Saturdays locations and online. The special item pieces from Porter Yoshida and Eyevol will be released on August 8th at all U.S Saturdays locations and online and August 9th globally.

In August of 2009, Saturdays NYC opened on a quiet, cobblestoned street in SoHo, New York City. Since its establishment, Saturdays has grown from a small downtown shop into an international lifestyle brand that is synonymous with high-quality craftsmanship, minimalist ethos and classic style.

Continuing its global expansion, Saturdays now has nine retail locations internationally including five in Japan, two in Manhattan and two in Australia. The Saturdays collection is stocked by top retailers in twenty-nine countries worldwide including Mr. Porter and Nordstrom. The full range is also available in each Saturdays store as well as online.
