seneTech-enabled menswear brand Sene will open their Los Angeles flagship store in the La Brea shopping district on March 22.

The company, which was founded in 2014, “offers modern bespoke essentials as a sustainable alternative to mass-produced clothing.” The line includes everything from suits and blazers to outerwear to joggers and dress trousers, which can be ordered to fit online.

Sene partnered with Google’s retail design lead, Warit Top Tulyathom, on the store’s design. Primary inspiration for the store’s design stemmed from the use of scale and shapes in the Blackness in Abstraction exhibit at Pace Gallery in New York City, along with modern architecture in Tokyo.

Customers will be greeted by a visually striking photo installation in the front. Meanwhile, faux concrete walls give a nod to the brutalist Scandinavian aesthetic, which has been softened with tufted Maharam fabric and wall fixtures that reference the Japanese design of Issey Miyake. In the back of the store will be fitting rooms and a backlit swivel door that leads to an exposed brick creative studio, which will serve as an office and space for photoshoots. The store will also offer personalized styling sessions, fittings, drink service for customers, and bi-monthly events (beginning in May).

“Instead of replicating the typical retail experience, we felt there was an opportunity to break away and offer a hero customer experience,” said CEO Ray Li. “Because of the on-demand nature of our products, we’ve created a service enabling a personal and emotional relationship with customers where they can feel comfortable trying out new styles, cuts, colors, getting their exact measurements taken, then going home and ordering online with ease.”
