SPONSORED PROFILE: THE UK’S DEPARTMENT FOR INTERNATIONAL TRADE HOSTS A TRIBUTE TO BRITISH FASHION AT MRKET AND PROJECT
Ever since Beau Brummel released us from the confines of frock coats and jabots, men have forever been indebted to British fashion. Later this month from January 23rd through the 25th, The UK’s Department for International Trade (DIT) will host a Tribute to British Fashion at the MRket and PROJECT show in New York. DIT is working closely with UK Fashion & Textiles on the various elements.
From the sartorial evening elegance of James Bond, who every man turns into when he dons a tuxedo, to the English country panache inspired by PBS super-drama “Downton Abbey”, to the inextricably linked music and fashion style of David Bowie and Mick Jagger, British fashion has always inspired us.
The MRket and PROJECT show has a long history of supporting UK fashion under the guise of “Brits in New York” and is a proud promoter of the amazing talent and quality that comes out of the UK.
The Tribute to British Fashion will feature an Afternoon Tea as well as a buyer lounge on the show floor highlighting the best of British Fashion, curated by the esteemed former Dean of Parson’s School of Design, Simon Collins. Featured brands include: Alan Paine, Barbour, Corgi, Derek Rose, Drake’s, Edward Green, Fox Umbrellas, Johnstons of Elgin, Pantherella, Tateossian Ltd., Ted Baker London, Trickers, Viyella and many others.
It is not “cool” to drag the U.K. British flag or ANY flag for that matter on the ground.
The set designer and photographer should have known better than to present the photo in this disrespectful manner.
