Stein Mart April Same-Store Sales Up 8.9%

Off-price retailer Stein Mart celebrated a nearly 9 percent boost in April same-store sales, driven in part by warmer weather. Total sales for April were $108.1 million, up from April 2013’s $99.3 million.
“I am delighted with our strong April sales,” commented CEO Jay Stein. “As you know, February and March sales were impacted by colder weather and the Easter calendar shift. Now that warmer weather is here, our customers are responding just wonderfully to our spring merchandise.”
Stein Mart operates 263 stores across the country.
