Stepaniuk joins new sweater division of Weatherproof

Alexandre Stepaniuk, formerly with the Nick Danger division of Hampshire Brands, has joined Weatherproof as Executive Vice President / Creative Director of their newly created sweater division. Stepaniuk will oversee the creation of a collection of sweaters that will be merchandised with the Weatherproof brand and derivative labels including private label.

At Hampshire, Stepaniuk designed private label and branded knitwear lines, including Levi’s for men and women, Wrangler and Nick Danger. The Weatherproof sweater division will include a wide range of styles and fibers including acrylic, cashmere, wool and cotton. Retail prices will start at $68 and are targeted to mainstream and better department stores.

Fred Stollmack, Weatherproof’s president, called the new collection “a natural business extension” noting that the company’s success in outerwear should help to drive its success in both the branded and private label sweater business.
