STOCK THESE SHIRTS!
For the many menswear merchants bemoaning a lack of excitement in the market, check out Robert Stock’s art/music/racecar-inspired shirt collection for fall ‘25. Clearly, “Quiet Luxury” is a trend these days, so selling understated basics in luxury fabrics makes sense. But for that “wow” factor, for guys who want to express their personality and/or their passions, or to simply stand out from the crowd, Stock’s fall ‘25 shirt collection is something truly special.
“In a sense, I’m going back to my original roots, incorporating numerous preppy influences,” says Stock, who worked with Ralph Lauren early in his career. “You’ll see many classic patterns, fraternity crests, tie dyes, and hidden details on and under cuffs and collars.” You’ll also see lots of hand stitching and embroidery, and references to classic race cars, end of Prohibition, 1940s jazz music, Woodstock and the Beatles.
It’s hard to pick a favorite, but this editor fell in love with the Woodstock-inspired denim shirt with patchwork front and back photo collage of musicians from that legendary festival. (Editor’s note: I gave up attending Woodstock for a summer in Paris; I’m still questioning that decision…)
Then there’s a fabulous denim jacket, lined with prints of muscle cars from the 1960s. And a formal pleated tuxedo shirt, with the words “I do” embroidered in gold under the cuff, and a vintage postcard collage of honeymoon locales on the back.
Suggested retails on this creative collection, with good margins for retailers, range from $228-$398. Check out the entire Stock collection at the Park Central Hotel ballroom in NYC and at the Chicago Collective.
