STREETWEAR BRAND STAPLE COLLABORATES WITH ROBBi ON SHANGHAI-INSPIRED FIGURINE

by John Russel Jones

Staple, the iconic streetwear brand, has announced an innovative collaboration with collectible art/toy brand ROBBi. The partnership combines the vibrancy of New York City with Shanghai’s rich architectural heritage. It introduces a collection of toy figurines inspired by Shanghai’s distinctive Shikumen architecture, characterized by tall stone walls and intricate gateway arches that reflect the fusion of Chinese and Western influences.

The STAPLE x ROBBi figurine embodies the spirit of this cross-cultural exchange. It showcases the iconic STAPLE pigeon motif against the backdrop of Shanghai’s syncretic architectural elements. The figurine, available in black and red, features a futuristic twist, with a glowing red pigeon insignia adorning its helmet. Its arms and legs boast a striking red lattice design inspired by Shikumen architecture, complemented by a stylized Pigeon yin yang emblem on the chest.

Jeff Staple, the visionary designer behind STAPLE, has consistently pushed the boundaries of streetwear with his innovative designs that resonate with urban enthusiasts worldwide. With this collaboration, Staple continues to bridge the gap between East and West, merging the cultural landscapes of New York City and Shanghai into a unique and captivating collection.

The STAPLE x ROBBi figurines will be available in two sizes: the 400% size at $225 and 1000% at $945. Fans can purchase these limited-edition collectibles in the United States today via staplepigeon.com and on March 20th in China through robbi.art.
