SUNSPEL COMMISSIONS LONDON ARTIST KATE GIBB FOR CAPSULE
For spring 2021, Sunspel has commissioned London-based artist and printmaker Kate Gibb to create exclusive screenprints which celebrate landmark music events in the British summer: the Isle of Wight Festival and Glastonbury.
The resulting artworks are perfect showcases for Gibb’s subtle, nuanced silkscreen print process, with the Isle of Wight design hinting at the festival’s psychedelic origins, and the Glastonbury pattern incorporating the shapes of the Pyramid Stage and the rolling Somerset hills.
The prints are applied to a playful capsule of camp collar shirts and swim shorts, while Gibb will also be personally screen printing a limited run of Sunspel’s classic Made in England T-shirts with a one-off application of the artworks.
The Sunspel x Kate Gibb Collection, which retails between $135 and $225, is now available.
