TAYLOR STITCH + DANNY D’S MUDSHOP LAUNCHES FIRST COLLABORATION: A DIAMOND IN THE MUD

by John Russel Jones

Taylor Stitch has launched an exclusive collaboration with artist and potter Danny Dooreck of Danny D’s Mudshop. The two brands have teamed up to build a limited-edition collection of clothing, outerwear, and ceramics, all made in California. The Danny D’s collection is inspired by the artist’s rock-and-roll-meets-western style pottery. The product is available in limited quantity and only while supplies last, exclusively on taylorstitch.com.

“Danny has long supported the brand and is an extremely talented ceramicist, so the partnership felt authentic. You will see aspects of his art tied in throughout the collection–whether on the graphic tee, hand-woven chore coat, or a one-of-a-kind piece of pottery. We were so excited to see his work come to life through the Taylor Stitch lens,” says Luke McAlpine, VP of Brand for Taylor Stitch.

“I believe in my product, its authenticity, and its uniqueness. I believe in strong relationships with brands that value my product. No one can make my ceramics or can reproduce it on the secondary market because it comes from the deepest part of me; from long nights, dry hands, and a sore neck,” says Dooreck.

Dooreck quit his “soul-sucking” corporate job and pursued his passions, starting Danny D’s Mudshop in 2021. Sick with a bout of COVID-19, Danny decided to sell a run of thirty ceramic pieces on Instagram. To his surprise, he sold $3,000 worth of pottery in half a day. Now seen in the homes of many celebrities and creators alike, his fine yet approachable ceramics serve as an optimistic reminder to let down our shoulders and seek out whatever makes us smile. Donned with panthers, cowboy boots, flaming hearts, and pretty ladies, the pieces are evocative of classic mariner tattoos.

The collection pays homage to Los Angeles’s creative spirit. The campaign is shot on film by LA photographer Justin Chung, whose photography style perfectly highlights the collaboration’s Western influences. Both brands are committed to sourcing materials sustainably and to making products that will last a lifetime. Each piece in the collection has been specially designed to showcase the art and fit beautifully.

The exclusive Taylor Stitch x Danny D’s Mudshop vase will be the first time the apparel brand has delved into the home goods space. These limited-edition pieces will be sure to light up any room.
