THE DLS OFFICE HAS A NEW TEAM MEMBER!

by Karen Alberg Grossman

John Totolis has joined Fred and Virginia at DLS Buying Office.

His resume speaks for itself. Fifteen years at Barneys New York, where his last role was DMM, he was in charge of buying tailored clothing, dress furnishings, luxury sportswear, and children’s clothing for both brick-and-mortar stores and online. John also spent time buying all men’s categories for both Ralph Lauren’s and Ermenegildo Zegna’s full-price boutiques. Prior to that, he worked at both Saks Fifth Ave and Bloomingdale’s, in both their buying offices and managing on the selling floor. He was also a merchant at The Gap, helping to launch their Gap Body division.

Says Fred, “I’m super excited about welcoming John to our team. He comes with rave reviews from industry sources; his vast retail and brand experience should provide us with much inspiration and fresh ideas.”

For his part, John truly looks forward to this new opportunity. “I’ve always worked for ‘big box’ retailers and brands, so I’m excited to learn the nuances of the specialty store business, for it’s this segment of retail that has always reflected the best examples of customer service, risk-taking, and elegant taste. In the end, these are the key pillars of our industry.”
