This Startup That Landed A Deal On “Shark Tank” Is Making Clothing For Shorter Guys
Depending upon the look you’re going for, baggy and oversized clothes can be a fashionable way to dress, but unfortunately for short guys, it’s usually a forced default rather than a style choice. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy my fair share of oversized hoodies for a cozy look, but at 5’5″, I know all too well how hard it can be to find fitted clothing that’s actually proportional. For the longest time, I thought I’d never be able to find off-the-shelf jeans that didn’t need to be cuffed or button up shirts that weren’t too too long. Luckily, Detroit-based startup Ash & Erie is saving me and other short guys from unwillingly wearing oversized clothing or having to take everything to a tailor. Co-founded by Steven Mazur and Eric Huang in 2015, Ash & Erie is a menswear brand that caters specifically to guys 5’8″ and under. The idea for the company came about when Mazur and Huang, who stand at 5’6″ and 5’8″ respectively, struggled to find clothes that fit them well. Read more at Business Insider.
