THOM BROWNE’S EXCLUSIVE COLLECTION FOR COLETTE IS NOW ON FARFETCH
American designer Thom Browne has partnered with iconic French boutique Colette on a special capsule of men’s and women’s pieces, ranging from collectible and unique runway pieces to reimagined bestsellers. The collection is a tribute to the famed Parisian retailer (which will be closing in December) and its relationship with Browne. Exclusive pieces from the collection will be available online on Farfetch.com alongside Colette’s boutique in Paris.
The capsule is rich with the motifs that have made Browne a force in global fashion: his signature grey color palette and rich mid-century design elements; the precise contemporary tailoring juxtaposed with playful impressions of his dachshund Hector.
“I’ll always remember the first time I met Thom in his Meatpacking District studio more than 10 years ago,” said Sarah Andelman, creative director of the store and daughter of Colette Roussaux. “I remember the way he welcomed me with a glass of morning champagne and the way his small shirt collection was just perfect. His vision for menswear was crystal clear.”
With Colette soon to close its doors at 213 rue Saint-Honoré, this collection is Browne’s way of celebrating two decades of innovation. “I remember meeting Sarah when I first started and I was overwhelmed by her acceptance of my then small, sophomoric collection,” added Browne. “Since that time, she has always been so supportive in providing both a creative and commercial point of view. She is a merchant with a singular, steadfast vision – a trait that is quite rare in today’s industry. I’m honored to be a part of Colette history – we will all miss Colette.”
