TODD SNYDER DROPS COLLABORATIONS WITH CLARKS, TIMEX

by John Russel Jones

Menswear designer Todd Snyder is adding his signature touch to further collaborations with classic accessories brands Clarks Originals and Timex.

For his latest with Clarks Originals, he’s created a fuzzy take on the Clarks Caravan Boot. Originally inspired by an archival style from the 1970s, this update is made from Forest Stewardship Council-certified rubber crepe. A characteristic chunky sole has a vintage aesthetic, while the moccasin construction and hairy suede upper give a comfortable, classic feel.

The Todd Snyder x Clarks Originals Caravan comes in two colorways – gray and navy – and retails for $220. The Todd Snyder x Clarks Originals Caravan Boot drops on Wednesday, October 4th at 10:00 a.m. and will be available exclusively at ToddSnyder.com and select retail locations.

“I wanted a rugged-yet-modern boot that felt new and fresh for the season. So, we went into the archives and found a lesser-known Clarks style from the 1970s,” says Snyder. “The Caravan makes you do a double-take and its versatility is just as suitable for the city as it is for the country.”

To bring the Caravan Boot to life, Snyder and Clarks Originals partnered with artist Nick Doyle. Born in Los Angeles, Doyle is best known for his sculptural wall works made from collaged denim. He infiltrates the vocabulary of Americana to examine greed, excess, and toxic masculinity with imagery and materials that tell a story of colonialism and consumerism.

Time for Todd

The Timex x Todd Snyder Blackout Expedition North is the latest installment in Todd Snyder’s long-running collaboration with Timex. This exclusive new style is the duo’s first solar-powered watch, which gets a chic, monochromatic look in solid black. Key design details include a black IP stainless steel case, a black leather strap, and black dial. This watch provides a reliable solar movement with up to a four-month power reserve. Other design details include Anti-Reflective Sapphire Crystal, luminant hands, a 41MM case, 20MM lug—and it’s water-resistant up to 100 meters.

“I wanted a rugged watch that was more modern and sleek than a vintage field watch. [Something] that would look good on days when you had your hiking boots and puffer jacket on and were headed out for adventure…even if that adventure might just be trying a roadside diner,” says Todd.

The Timex x Todd Snyder Blackout Expedition North is available now on ToddSnyder.com and at all retail locations. It retails for $179.
