NEW YORK—Designer Peter Trainor and menswear executive Gary Cohen have launched a new collection of men’s sportswear called Original Max’s Garments.

The collection, which will retail for between $88 and $288, was developed in collaboration with Broadtex Textiles and features Japanese fabrics, heavy on the indigo.

“All fabrications were exclusively developed for us in mainly beautiful indigos in knits and wovens,” said Trainor. “We are currently working with better retailers in the US and plan to expand into Japan and the UK for spring/summer.”

Trainor, a veteran designer has worked with Luke Simon, Raffi Linea Uomo, Lands’ End and other brands. Cohen spent ten years as president of Ted Baker. He was president of Earnest Sewn for two years starting in 2009.
