TUTIMA AND GEORGE ESQUIVEL LAUNCH COMPASS TRAVEL WATCH AND ACCESSORY COLLECTION 

German watchmaker Tutima announces the launch of Compass, a limited edition watch and travel accessory collaboration with Los Angeles, Calif.-based shoe and accessory designer George Esquivel. Tutima and Esquivel share a dedication to craftsmanship, design innovation, and taking the time to create beautifully crafted products

Travel is a key theme throughout the collection. Limited to 25 sets, each includes a bespoke edition of the Tutima Patria Dual Time watch, accessorized with two NATO straps and watch holder designed by Esquivel. Also included are a pair of Esquivel’s famed Chelsea boots, and an overnight duffle. Keeping with Esquivel’s values of timeless and modern design, all Compass pieces are made from a natural Vachetta leather crafted in his Southern California workshop.

“When we learned of George’s passion for watch collecting and his personal experience with Tutima, we knew he would be the perfect collaborative partner”, says Gustavo Calzadilla, President & CEO of Tutima USA. “It was important we create a collection that perfectly represents the value of fine craftsmanship instilled in both Tutima and Esquivel and we found the same dedicated effort and attention to detail in his journey of creation as we have at Tutima.” 

“Tutima holds a special place in my heart. When I was first able to afford real luxury mechanical watches, Tutima was one of the first pieces I purchased. I fell in love with the color and design of the piece. The dial is a beautiful Bordeaux. I typically sell or trade my watches after a few years of owning them, but I have held on to my Tutima since 2009,” explained Esquivel.

Featuring an identically colored patina as the Zipper Chelsea Boots, The Tutima + Esquivel Leather Overnight Duffle Bag fits perfectly on the back of a motorbike or in an over-head compartment, and features an internal pocket made to perfectly fit the Tutima + Esquivel watch holder. Protective but not bulky, the watch holder features a leather shell and lining, coordinating with the colored patina featured throughout the collection. It perfectly holds the Patria Dual Time during travels and its additional NATO strap.

Each piece is co-branded with the brands’ logos and compass to symbolize the spirit of travel and adventure that inspired the collaboration. Each compass is etched by hand on all items, including the Tutima Patrial Dual Time sapphire case back, further celebrating the artistry and craftsmanship seen in both brands. The travel pieces are sold as a set and retail for $16,900 USD.
