Fully crowd-sourced fashion show VFILES Runway has adding a new category: wearable technology. The show, which will feature both men’s and women’s apparel, is set to kick off New York Fashion Week, Wednesday, February 10th, 2016.

Through December 31, 2015, designers, stylists, makeup artists, photographers, hair stylists, and models and wearable tech creators can create a VFILES profile, or add one to their existing profile, and upload their work to www.vfiles.com for the chance to be showcased in the show. The VFILES editorial team, as well as a group of prestigious mentors (previous mentors include stylist Mel Ottenberg, legendary fashion editor Candy Pratts Price, Calvin Klein Collection menswear designer Italo Zucchelli, W Magazine digital director Dirk Standen and more), will review each submission based on vision, cultural relevance, saleability, and execution.

“Adding a wearable technology category to VFILES Runway is a fitting evolution for our tech-savvy community, said VFILES founder Julie Anne Quay. “So far most of the wearable tech we are seeing is health related: heart rate monitors, blood pressure sensors and of course activity calibrators. We are excited to put a real fashion take on wearable tech, bring clothes to life and use technology as another dimension of self-expression.”

In addition to the wearable tech category, VFILES will also be introducing VFILES_XO, an interactive collaboration between VFILES and progressive fashion technology company XO. VFILES_XO will dial up fashion, tech and emotion in a ready-to-wear line for the future consumer.
