What’s Next For Retail? 3 (Not So Crazy) Things Learned At SXSW
It’s been a month since retail brands and marketing leaders flocked to Austin for the annual SXSW Interactive Festival. The dust of nightly parties and networking events has settled, the breakfast taco hangover has passed and most of us are back in the routine of our day-to-day duties. Hopefully, though, retailers and brand marketers alike were able to reflect on some of the wisdom bestowed upon them and break down what’s new and what’s next —and what’s even remotely possible for their 2016 roadmap. In years past, panels and keynote talks focused on emerging technology, creative branding and the rise of mobile, but few were tied to the retail industry. Last year the tides began to change with talks focused on things like wearable tech, beacons and retail innovators like StitchFix.
