WILLY CHAVARRIA LAUNCHES K-SWISS COLLAB

by Stephen Garner

New York menswear label Willy Chavarria has launched its collaboration with American tennis brand K-Swiss.

The two brands came together to create a vision of ‘90s California Chicano tennis prep. The line is Chavarria’s take on what rich kids in high school wore while playing tennis mixed with what the “Cholos” wore (oversized khakis and tall white socks).

In addition to sportswear items, K-Swiss’ Classic 2000 sneaker is reimagined to add additional foam padding and metal spikes, to offer comfort and the idea of protection. Chavarria takes elements of his history with K-Swiss, connecting the original highbrow tennis classic with a ‘90s Chicano rave vibe and washed out Cali-neon colors. Soft, chunky fleece jerseys all heavily washed for the perfect slouch in cozy and approachable silhouettes.

The collection, which retails between $120 and $250, is now available at Dover Street Market Ginza, LN-CC, Luisaviaroma, Machus, kswiss.com, and willychavarria.com.
