GUEST EDITORIAL: LET’S DO SOMETHING

Elliot and Joshua Rabin of Peter Elliot Menswear visit the Javits Convention Center.

For those merchants and manufacturers looking to do something meaningful with their end-of-season Fall/Winter apparel, why not help our friends in the Ukraine? We at Peter Elliot are donating all of our leftover men’s and boy’s merchandise from this Fall/Winter and prior seasons. Temple Emanuel on Fifth Avenue will ensure that it all goes to where it’s most needed.

In addition, as the Chinese are seemingly supporting Putin, I suggest we think about beginning to move production out of a country that is basically hostile to our values. (Peter Elliot carries no vendors whose merchandise is made in China.)

What’s more, since our southern borders are a mess due primarily to lack of employment opportunities, perhaps we can begin to move more apparel production to more South and Central American countries. This would begin to solve the ongoing border problem; I would also imagine that shipping costs would be substantially reduced!

In closing, I’m proud to introduce two new members of our team: our puppy FESTUS, and my son Joshua…both welcome additions to our sales staff!

Peace and prosperity to all. Ya Mon!
