ANTI SOCIAL SOCIAL CLUB LAUNCHES COLLECTION W/ DESIGNER BRYANT GILES
Anti Social Social Club‘s (ASSC) latest collection is a collaboration with Chicago designer and artist, Bryant Giles. The collection launched on the brand’s store page last weekend. Featuring characters from Giles’ upcoming animated series titled Mr. Guy, the collection continues ASSC’s Artist Series, a multidisciplinary collaboration with visual artists of all kinds. ASSC’s Artist Series began with the brand’s summer collaboration with the L.A.-based graffiti artist Polo Cutty and is designed to offer the brand’s clothing as a blank canvas for creatives and designers like Giles.
The collection includes short and long-sleeved T-shirts, polos, crewnecks, hoodies, fleece shorts, wide-leg sweatpants, hats, and socks. Many pieces are garment-dyed, tie-dyed, and embroidered. Retails range from $45 to $175.
Bryant Giles is a designer based in Los Angeles and founder of the ready-to-wear label Gone Homme. A celebrated visual artist, Giles’ surrealist paintings were prominently featured in the 2021 Los Angeles exhibit “Shattered Glass,” a collaboration of 40 international visual artists meant to challenge representation in Western figurative art. Giles’ work and vision have been featured in Vogue, Vogue Italia, Los Angeles Times, i-D, Office, and Numéro Berlin, among others. In 2022, Giles released a successful collaboration with New Balance and is currently developing an upcoming solo exhibition, titled “What Now.”
From Anti Social Social Club: “Welcome to Mr. Guy Universe. ASSC is excited to partner with BG Store by Bryant Giles for our next artist series. For our collection, Giles has taken us into the Mr. Guy Universe, an animated world of characters and slogans. The color palette of the collection takes us through a fusion of the Bryant Giles and Anti Social Social Club emotional spectrum.”
The campaign photos for the collection were shot in Japan, where Giles is at work with a new exhibition.
