BARACUTA GIVES A PEEK AT SPRING 2020 AT PITTI

by Stephen Garner

Baracuta gave a sneak peek at what’s coming up for spring/summer 2020 at its booth at Pitti Uomo 96 last week in Florence.

First up, the British heritage brand showcased a new line of G9s in collaboration with Atelier & Repairs. These jackets are made from the scraps from the production of other G9s in order to avoid waste and to embrace Atelier & Repairs’ philosophy of “produce less repair more”.

A 1960s revival and environmental awareness are the key themes of Baracuta’s spring/summer 2020. In addition to its Atelier & Repairs collection, Baracuta also previewed a new collaboration with artist and print designer C.J. Pidlaoan, who will make special customizations on Baracuta G9 jackets, creating unique pieces from nautical and military archive fabrics.

Further, the legendary G9 suede returns to Pitti in a fresh colorful palette. And a washed overshirt and field jacket, from the Baracuta archive, with Baracuta logos behind the neck, in a washed-out-effect cotton made its debut.

The brand also showed a range of ultra-soft sweatshirts, like the maxi logo crew neck fleece that features Baracuta embroidery on the chest, made of soft premium fleece, and the soft fleece G9, a sweatshirt designed like a G9, with umbrella back vent and distinctly college-looking-details with stripes around the waist and around cuffs’ sleeves.
