Belk Promotes Clevenger to GMM, Men’s, Home and Kids
Belk has promoted Jan Clevenger to EVP and GMM of men’s, home and kids. She was previously the chair of Belk’s Western Division in Birmingham, Ala., a position she’s held since 2008. She will report to David Zant, who was promoted to president and chief merchant when Kathryn Bufano left Belk to become CEO of Bon-Ton.
Clevenger joined Belk in 2000 as DMM for accessories in the Southern Division. In 2002 she became DMM of men’s sportswear. She was promoted to VP in 2003 and SVP/director of stores for the Northern Division in 2006. Her career started at Macy’s in 1984.
David Luoma, who joined Belk as SVP/director of stores for the Southern Division in 2011, will succeed Clevenger as chair of the Western Division.
