BLOOMINGDALE’S CELEBRATES “ART OF FASHION” THROUGH STORE WINDOWS AND CUSTOMIZATION PROGRAMS
Bloomingdale’s flagship store on 59th Street in Manhattan has teamed up with artists including painter Eddy Bogaert and multimedia artist Steven Miller for a series of store windows that celebrate the “art of fashion.”
The men’s fashion windows on Third Avenue highlight the biggest trends of the season and take their fashion inspiration from three major areas in California: Hollywood, Joshua Tree and Venice Beach. The background of the Venice Beach-inspired window is lined with 50 black and white skateboards, designed by Miller, that showcase the silhouette of a snake.
In addition, shoppers are being given the opportunity to express their creativity. People passing by the Lexington Avenue windows can type Artof100.com into their mobile browser to turn their smartphone into a virtual paint gun. While standing in front of the window, participants will have thirty seconds to virtually splatter paint on to a Bloomingdale’s shopping bag which will be revealed on a TV screen in the window. The work of art can be emailed and shared on social media using #100percentbloomies. In-store, customers can get their kicks customized by artist @By_Jordana, have money clips and tie bars engraved, and personalize their morning coffee with latte art.
