GUEST POST: AN EXCHANGE OF IDEAS

by Lucky Nahum

I’ve been a retailer and I’ve been a wholesaler. I’ve been in the fashion industry in good times and in bad. What I’ve yet to experience, however, is people walking around naked. Yet the rhetoric I hear from the industry, and the erratic shopping patterns I observe in my own business, make me wonder if clothing has suddenly become optional.

Fortunately, it hasn’t, so the next step is to ask what consumers are buying since the pandemic; why, where, and what motivates them? (I also ask myself if I’m asking the right questions because, without the right questions, solutions will never be found.)

Although I believe I’ve come to some valid conclusions, I’d love to jumpstart business for myself and for my industry colleagues. Zoom has become a game-changer for many of us: I use it with my customers and I’d love to use it with my fashion industry colleagues. Therefore, I’d like to invite anyone interested in sharing thoughts re: how to tackle today’s changing market, to bring your experience, knowledge, hunger, and passion to a Zoom brainstorming session.

On October 12, 2021 at 7:30 PM, I am hosting the first “Lucky’s Me, You & Fashion Too” night. Those interested should contact me via email, lucky@alwaysgetlucky.com, so I can send you an invitation link. Bottom line: I’m not yet ready to fold my cards and I believe many of you feel the same. I look forward to a compelling and productive exchange of ideas!
