HAGEN OPENS A NEW CARMEL STUDIO

by Karen Alberg Grossman

How inspiring when a young guy who’s always been passionate about clothing works his way up the ranks and ultimately launches his own business. Hagen Peyser did just that about three years ago and is now in more than 200 better specialty stores. What’s his secret?  Aside from beautiful, well-priced luxury product, he’s not selling online, on Amazon, or in department stores.

What’s more, he’s recently moved into a new studio and office in Carmel Valley Village. “It’s been a blast getting it set up (with a lot of help from our friends),” Hagen tells MR. “We had a Studio opening party on June 25th for about 40 close industry friends. John Haller and Jane Chaney attended, as did Todd Tice, Carol Denton, and the entire Team from The Club Carmel (great partners with a wonderful business). Joyce Vineyards of Carmel Valley supplied some great Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. And the best part: Our friends got together and made a sign that they then signed on the back with lovely personal notes…”

In addition to the woven shirts that put him on the map, Hagen is most excited about some new knits and the fun footwear he’s added to the collection: hand-sewn canvas shoes and loafers in happy spring colors (navy, pink, mint) to retail at $135-$155.

To see the entire spring ‘22 Hagen collection, look for him in Dallas (new permanent showroom room 7654), Charlotte, and Chicago.
