HERSCHEL SUPPLY TO RELEASE COLLECTION WITH ARTIST JOSHUA VIDES
Herschel Supply will present its newest collaboration with renowned Los Angeles-based artist and streetwear veteran Joshua Vides at ComplexCon this weekend in Long Beach, California.
Renowned for his interpretations of real-life objects using white paint and contrasting black ink, Vides continues to bring his concept of a sketch to life with a curated selection of Herschel silhouettes. He also takes it one step further by creating an immersive environment at the third-annual ComplexCon, allowing attendees to mingle with Vides’ “Reality to Idea” series.
“The popular phrase is ‘taking your idea to reality’, right? So what I’m doing is flipping that popular phrase,” Vides explained. “The moment the concept was created, from there it was a race.”
Crafted from smooth and water-resistant polycoat fabric with tarpaulin contrasts, this capsule collection includes the iconic and feature-laden Herschel Little America backpack, the Settlement Case for drawing essentials and the compact Cruz crossbody. Each style is reimagined as Vides’ 2-D black-and-white sketches applied as screen printed detailing and tactile elements, including shaped hook-and-loop patches, lustrous webbing and custom woven branding.
Limited quantities from this exclusive Joshua Vides partnership offering will available for purchase on November 3-4, 2018, at Herschel Supply’s ComplexCon booth. For those unable to attend, additional units will be released on herschel.com, reality-to-idea.com, and select Herschel stockists on November 5, 2018.
