HOUSE OF THE VERY ISLAND’S JOINS FORCES WITH REINHARD PLANK FOR SPRING
For this new season, House Of the Very Island’s has collaborated with Austrian-born designer Reinhard Plank to create a set of hats that top off the sophisticated and relaxed look of its collection “House by the Beach”. Plank’s approach matches House Of the Very Island’s fusion of classic tailored menswear, unpretentious street style and experimental shapes.
Insisting on the beauty of uniqueness and the value of craftsmanship, Plank manages to create designs that break with conventions and are at the same time totally laid back and wearable.
For this spring/summer ’19, House Of combined two of Reinhard Plank’s unique shapes with favorite materials used in the new collection: handmade organic cotton denim, hand printed organic cotton twill and light-weight seersucker with intense blue stripes.
House Of was founded in 2006 as a cooperation of four designers rooted in a network of artists, musicians and film-makers in Vienna. Karin Krapfenbauer and Markus Hausleitner’s work is specifically focused on fashion. Heading for an avant-garde casual wear ” House Of the Very Island’s ” combines effortless wearable with conceptual patternmaking and explicit silhouettes using organic and fair-trade materials.
Austrian-born Plank graduated from the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, in 2003 launched his eponymous label and two years later he moved to Florence, Tuscany. Reinhard Plank creates handmade hats and accessories characterized by clean lines, neutral tones and directional details. The striking designs are crafted from classic materials using traditional production methods, and then skillfully finished with more experimental treatments.
