IDRIS ELBA DEBUTS HIS OWN FASHION LINE

by Stephen Garner

Following a soft launch last year in the UK which completely sold out, Golden Globe and SAG-winning actor, director, producer and musician Idris Elba officially drops his own apparel collection.

Dubbed 2HR SET, this unisex fashion line is inspired by Elba’s passion for music and DJ culture – something that has been a part of his life since he was a young man growing up in London’s East End. As most DJs know, the two hours they have in a gig is the window to do their best work, whether it’s in music or outside of it.

“A two-hour set is the acid test for a DJ. But for me, I’ve taken this idea a step further,” said Elba. “Whether I’m behind the decks on stage, in the gym, or studying a new script, I’ll give myself two hours and really get stuff done. It’s my window to go for it, get it done, and get it done well.”

The upcoming 2HR SET collection will be released in two drops for men, women, and children. The first drop will debut the brand and its unique logo, which was designed by Elba and his team. Drop 2 will highlight various collaborations between 2HR SET and other brands, musicians, artists and photographers that have personally inspired Idris. Prices for tees will start at $40 for adults and $30 for kids, sweatshirts $80 for adults and $40 for kids and will be available at 2hrset.com.

Further, with the recent increase of knife crime in the UK and its tragic consequences for too many young people, Elba and his 2HR SET team are taking a stand to speak out against this epidemic with exclusive ‘Don’t Stab Your Future’ t-shirts, sweats and hoodies. All proceeds from the campaign go to support Faron Alex Paul’s organization who are out on the streets tirelessly collecting knives.
