Debenhams are once again occupying many column inches as they announced that they are to permanently close another seven stores and that they have reached agreements to save around another 120. The truth, of course, is that Debenhams had been fighting a losing battle against their fading relevance for years, long before anyone had dreamt of social distancing. The big question for both however, is just how many will actually reopen when the government gives them the green light?
