French fashion label Koché showed its fall 2018 collection at the iconic Strand Book Store in New York City on Tuesday, December 12. Following the success of the spring 2018 debut with soccer club Paris Saint-Germain at Paris Fashion Week in September, founder Christelle Kocher continued her collaboration with the soccer club.
The collection offered inspiration from the energy of the city and was translated to show the multicultural and free spirit of those in New York. The men’s and women’s ready to wear designs blended sportswear mainstays with couture techniques that included 21 Merino wool pieces that were embroidered or printed, tying in exceptional craftsmanship supported by The Woolmark Company. This marks the first in a new two-season partnership between Koché and The Woolmark Company.
“For the collection, I worked with Woolmark to source wool for a very casual street-inspired style and crafted pieces – like a coat where the wool is completely reworked with appliqué of vinyl and re-embroidered with crystals,” said Kocher. “There are also included several hand-knitted wool pieces.”
“Year after year and with the support of our chairman, the Paris Saint-Germain brand continues to expand into new areas within fashion, culture, and lifestyle,” added Fabien Allègre, director of merchandising and brand diversification at Paris Saint-Germain. “We always want to go beyond the framework of soccer to break norms and attract more fans to our brand. Collaborating with Christelle Kocher is fantastic we share the same values of excellence, diversity, and creativity.”
