Liberty Fairs will host “Après Ski NYC” in partnership with iconic West Village restaurant The Waverly Inn in a joint effort to creatively foster collaboration between industries during an especially challenging time for small businesses. Après Ski NYC, a concept founded by The Waverly Inn’s wine director Jeff Harding, will showcase winter fashion brands in a series of weekly outdoor events, encouraging patrons to support NYC restaurants during the winter season.

The first two editions will showcase a curated roster of Montreal-based brands in partnership with Montreal’s Metropolitan Fashion Cluster (mmode), an organization that champions the growth and outreach of Quebec’s fashion industry, under the #mtlstyle signature. Après Ski NYC will kick off at The Waverly Inn on December 15th and December 22nd at 7pm EST, with events to follow.

Inspired by social activities typically following a day of skiing in the Alps, the event will feature hot drinks by The Waverly and rosé champagne by Champagne Jacquart in a cozy environment. Each following event will feature a different alcohol sponsor thereafter. Attendees will be introduced to the latest winter wear in an intimate setting, as models styled in prominent Montreal brands such as Auclair, Audvik, Boulder Denim, Gorski Group, Mitchie’s Matchings, NOIZE, Quartz Co, and Yoga Jeans walk outside the venue.

“Fostering collaboration between industries while supporting local restaurants is a win-win for all,” said Edwina Kulego, vice president of Liberty Lifestyle & Fashion Fairs. “This is the time to bundle up in your favorite outerwear and show up for small businesses.”

“Restaurants are really struggling right now, and rather than getting gloomy I wanted to find a reason to celebrate and have a little party,” added Harding. “My friends reminded me of winter festivals and après-ski parties and it just fit so perfectly. So now we need to tell NYC to bundle up and come out to experience the fun of outdoor dining.”

As reported last week, Liberty Fairs will launch its second Virtual Marketplace in partnership with Joor and the LA Men’s Market on February 9, 2021.
