LOJEL OPENS FIRST NORTH AMERICAN POP-UP STORE AT SHOWFIELDS

by Stephen Garner

LOJEL has opened its first North American pop-up store at Showfields New York.

At this new pop-up, the global travel-ware company is giving visitors an interactive introduction to the brand. LOJEL’s laser engraving machine will offer customers the opportunity to have their newly-purchased travel items and accessories personalized on-site. The space will also feature a Digital Postcard Wall that leads visitors to a variety of retail touchpoints – LOJEL’s Deep Travel Blog, Playlists for Travel, and City Guides.

The space miniaturizes New York’s diverse architectural topography in a deliberately compressed and elaborate internal layout comprised of narrow passages and varying ceiling heights. The brand aims to celebrate the conditions that inspired both the NYC skyline and LOJEL’s best-selling products from the Cubo Collection.

LOJEL’s Cubo Collection is born to adapt to any situation with its high volume and maximum versatility. When faced with small apartments and even smaller hotel rooms, the brand created a space-efficient way to utilize a suitcase in urban travel. The Cubo’s front compartment is designed for easy access to essentials and the unique flat top opening gives users the ability to pack while on the road and in tight spaces with ease. An expandable body provides extra room when travelers need it, and an understated look functions well when traveling in a busy city like New York. Aside from the Cubo collection, the unique pop up store also features additional solutions for modern travelers with the stylish and functional Urbo 2 bags and travel accessories.

In a time when so much about the future is still uncertain, LOJEL is engaged in conversations with travelers about the future of travel, and the pop-up experience will feature many of the insights they’ve gathered throughout the process – showcasing the results via an Augmented Reality installation. Hardly any industry has been untouched by the COVID-19 crisis, but travel was among the first to be affected and has been dealt a particularly brutal blow – not only for travel–ware brands, but for all travel-related companies including airlines, hotels and accommodations, and tourism boards.

As travel brands worldwide prepare for the future, the LOJEL team has been using this time to expand the imagination and look forward to the exciting advancements that may be born from this time of crisis.

Showfields is located at 11 Bond Street in the NoHo neighborhood of Manhattan. Those interested in the brand can find it in Shop F9 on the first floor of the store through December 2020.
