MENSWEAR’S BEST DRESSED – MINN HUR OF HVRMINN

As the co-founder and creative director for sartorial menswear label HVRMINN (pronounced hur-min), Minn Hur never leaves the house without dressing to the nines. Having seen him walking around the Garment District near his studio while sporting his sophisticated style, it was only natural that we include him in our on-going series: Menswear’s Best Dressed.

Q: How important is it to look stylish in your job and why?

A: Looking stylish is part of the job. As the creative director of HVRMINN, I also need to create a persona, a lifestyle that compels the audience.

Q: What’s the most exciting part of your job?

A: Being able to inspire men to take on the lifestyle and persona that I create with my collection.

Q: What are your favorite pieces for spring/summer ‘17? What are you most excited about and why?

A: We incorporated a new label, “11377PCK”, which will feature a whole new contemporary line from HVRMINN. We’ve made brand new patterns for t-shirts, hoodies, coats, and accessories. The aesthetic will still be masculine and very alluring.

Q: To who or what do you attribute your sense of style?

A: I don’t have someone I attribute my sense of style to, but I aspire to be like my father.

Q: What is the best piece of style advice you’ve heard or learned?

A: Stay sexy.

Q: Every time I see you, you are in a perfectly fitted suit with the perfect shirt, tie, pocket square and shoes. What do you wear on your days off?

A: I’m always wearing a suit, unless I’m in the gym. I also tend to wear my suits with hoodies, t-shirts, and sneakers, so it’s not always shirt and tie.
