MR PORTER DEBUTS LATEST PRIVATE LABEL COLLECTION

by Stephen Garner

Mr P., the private label brand from online menswear retailer Mr Porter, has launched its latest collection for spring 2021.

Launching on-site from mid-March, with product dropping throughout the season, the new collection encompasses 228 pieces across ready-to-wear, accessories, swim, and footwear reflecting Mr P.’s contemporary style, while also introducing the first summer offering of luxury-made pieces, developed using specialist techniques and time-honored construction methods from mills and manufacturers in Scotland, Northamptonshire, and Florence.

The spring collection draws inspiration from “The Beat Generation”; a group of 1950s writers and artists whose work influenced American writing, culture, and consciousness in the post-war era. Inspired by the nomadic journeys “The Beats” took from Paris to Tangier, the collection explores casual Americana through an international lens, with chore jackets and loose tailoring styled alongside colorful and bold shirts and polos.

Each piece within the collection embodies an eclectic and painterly aesthetic through earthy, natural color tones and bohemian prints. Also debuting this season are pieces that have been created using natural-dyes in jersey and new garment-dye techniques, such as the Resist-Dyed Blouson Jacket, a Garment-Dyed Waffle-Knit Sweater, and a Spray-Dyed Overshirt.

Plus, 10 pieces within the collection will feature a discrete, sewn-in Digital ID QR code that Mr P. is piloting with EON CircularID Protocol, that, when scanned, unlocks insight into the design and provenance of the garment, access to care and repair recommendations, and additional styling tips.

The initial release of the Mr P. spring/summer 2021 collection is now available.
