Obituary: Menswear Executive James “Jim” Moore

James J MooreJames “Jim” Moore, a menswear executive whose career spanned 50 years, died on March 8 at the age of 84.

Moore’s career started at Louis Roth and took him through Kuppenheimer, Jay-Mar Ruby, Hartmarx and others. He was most recently an industry consultant.

“He worked for our company as a consultant for over twenty years,” said David Kositchek of Kositchek’s Menswear in Lansing, Mich. “His sharp mind and knowledge of our industry helped us maneuver the many challenges that come with operating a business. Jim was well known to so many in the menswear industry. I will miss his guidance but most of all his friendship.”

Kositchek added, “In recent years his expertise was in helping menswear retailers and wholesale companies navigate turbulent times. His client list was a who’s who of many of our finest firms both past and present. Jim’s long association with the menswear industry was evident by the many friends he valued. His enthusiasm and dedication will forever be felt by those he worked with.”

He is survived by his wife Mary Ann and four children. He was predeceased by his daughter Laura Ann. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday May 30th at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Glenview, IL.
