ONITSUKA TIGER TO HOST NYC POP-UP GALLERY STORE

[metaslider id=127119] Japanese footwear brand Onitsuka Tiger will host a pop-up gallery store in New York’s SoHo neighborhood, beginning on April 6. The store is scheduled to stay open until December 2017.

The 1,290-square foot pop-up gallery, located at 92 Mercer Street, will offer visitors a unique, retail experience that showcases the Onitsuka Tiger brand, through both footwear and apparel. It will feature the U.S. debut of the Nippon Made Collection. Retailing at $300, the Nippon Made collection uses a labor-intensive, leather made, hand stitched and dye process through Japanese craftsmanship in Japan to produce a one of a kind pair each time. In addition, the store will also house the collaborative Onitsuka Tiger x Andrea Pompilio Capsule Collection, which launched in Spring 2013.

Meanwhile, the gallery’s exhibition space will showcase an archive of replica performance shoes, archive posters and collaborative art of locally-active Japanese artist Enirico Isamu Oyama, a renowned muralist and painter using Quick Turn Structure motifs adapting graffiti pictorial representations The space will also host a series of cultivated and themed in-store events, still to be announced.
