PIERRE-LOUIS MASCIA DEBUTS DIADORA COLLAB AT PITTI

by John Russel Jones

Pierre-Louis Mascia is a trained illustrator from Toulouse in France. He created his eponymous collection in 2007 with the collaboration of the Uliassi brothers, of the Achille Pinto shop in Como, a company with nearly 90 years of silk printing experience. Last week at Pitti, Mascia debuted a capsule collection called Vizir, inspired by the world of sport. The collection will launch in January 2023.

The name, Vizir, is meant to evoke a Persian world where culture and the art of living are sophisticated and refined. Within the collection is an exclusive sneaker collaboration with Diadora, the iconic active sportswear brand. Mascia’s designs were inspired by the ikat dye technique — from which he drew inspiration for the graphics — and the Diadora aesthetic.

The capsule consists of three outfits, developed in three different prints, one of which coordinates with the new sneakers, and includes a windbreaker hoodie in waterproof silk, a reinterpretation of the tennis tracksuit with zip jacket and jogger pants, T-shirts, shorts, and leggings, as well as a 140×140 silk scarf and a bucket hat.
