PORSCHE DESIGN RELEASES FALL FASHION AND SPORTSWEAR COLLECTIONS

by Stephen Garner

Porsche Design has released the first look at its new fall/winter 2020 fashion and sportswear collections that combine modern technologies and sustainability with casual style for today’s digital nomads.

The fall/winter 2020 fashion collection is centered around minimalist design and functional elements, often inspired by motorsports. Pullovers, casual sweaters, trousers, and blazers boast tailored cuts and details clearly inspired by sports cars including stitching in the same style as Porsche steering wheels and elements made of Porsche seat belt material. A progressive and sustainable mindset is also reflected in the collection: recycled ECO nylon, down-free padding, and chrome-free leather are utilized in various pieces.

Smart outfits in urban grey and blue tones are for those who are not satisfied with the average, but those that hold themselves to the highest standard. The collection’s details were inspired by space travel. Styles such as the progressive Neoprene Leather Mix Jacket, Printed Mars Tee, and futuristic MotoX Leather Biker are a tribute to the pioneering spirit of the 2025 Mars Rover mission – and a testament to the wearer’s own drive to always push boundaries.

At the core of the Porsche Design x Puma fall/winter 2020 sportswear collection is the launch of the Xetic sneakers that combine Puma’s brand new midsole technology with Porsche Design’s purist design and high-quality materials. Developed in a lab and made for the street, Xetic cushioning technology is a modified combination of structure and foam that compresses with each step for infinite comfort. Three styles: Xectic M, Xetic M Shift, and Xetic L are made of sustainable materials and offer both luxury and performance while on the move.

Other highlights include the new RCT Jacket made of a special glow-in-the-dark fabric that’s charged by sunlight and shines brightly at night, as well as the Porsche Design x Puma OCTN High Sneaker that fuses motorsport DNA with a dynamic silhouette and rugged style.

In addition to established materials such as Polartec, Ecodown fibers, or the patented temperature-regulating 37.5 technology, Porsche Design and Puma have used new intelligent fibers and finishes. High-performance fabrics with Coolmax wick moisture and enhance drying.
