PRIMARK SET TO OPEN FIRST U.S. STORE IN SEPTEMBER
European fast-fashion retailer Primark is proceeding full steam ahead with its plans to conquer the USA next .
In anticipation of the opening of its first Stateside store in Boston in September, the company is holding job fairs this month to recruit for the 450 jobs it will bring to the area.
The store will be in The Burnham Building store, at 10 Summer St. in the heart of Boston’s Downtown Crossing in a 70,000-sq.-ft. space that formerly housed Filene’s. Primark, which currently has 287 stores in the UK, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and France, plans to open eight stores in the Northeast US by end 2016.
The chain, which produces and sells inexpensive men’s, women’s and kids’ fashion, was founded in Ireland in 1969.
