As retailers across the U.S. work to solve supply chain issues related to the delays and ripple effects of COVID-19, some are turning to pre-orders and backorder models as stop-gap solutions. These models allow retailers to continue to sell and generate revenue while keeping customers informed that fulfillment will take a bit longer than usual.
