REYN SPOONER SHOWING ‘MODERN ALOHA’ COLLECTION AT NYC POP-UP
Starting today Reyn Spooner, the 59-year-old line of Hawaiian clothing, will be showcasing its fall/winter 2015-16 collection at the FLUX Hawaii General Store, a pop-up at Kinfolk 90 Project Space and Lounge in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
The collection features the company’s famed reverse-prints shirts and newer pieces such as the “Mauna Kea” sweater and the “Sunday Sail” shirt. These items have proved remarkably popular with New Yorkers, Kirk Hubbard, the company’s president, told MR. “I think New York guys like the heritage and authenticity of our collection,” he says. “In fact, the thing I’ll miss most about not being able to come to New York this year is seeing how New York men wear our product on the streets.”
The General Store, which is being sponsored by FLUX Hawaii magazine, also features items from other designers, independent artists and local food vendors from Hawaii. It was created in honor of New York Fashion Week and will be open through next Thursday, September 17.
