Montreal-based clothing manufacturer Samuelsohn presented its fall/winter 2017 collection at a presentation at The Ice Rink at The Standard Hotel yesterday in New York City.

The unique presentation featured models ice skating around the rink that culminated in a special performance by Canadian figure skater Eric Radford, an Olympic pairs silver medalist and five-time Canadian pairs champion.

Highlights included a long length double breasted coat in ice cashmere with zibeline finish; a car coat in wool blend ombre plaid with peak lapel; and a Chesterfield soft suit in ice wool and cashmere flannel.

“My inspiration for the season was Monte Bianco which is capped in ice year round. Drawing from its foothills bathed in autumnal hues of garnet, I created a foundation of wine and then layered with silver and ice blue,” said Arnold Brant Silverstone, president and chief creative officer. “The pinnacle fabric for fall/winter 2017 is our exclusive ice technology of luxury wools and cashmeres that defy the laws of physics, are non-toxic and eco-friendly. Extraordinary isothermal properties maintain an optimal body microclimate while offering water resistance, wrinkle recovery, natural stretch and breathability.”
