SATURDAYS NYC FINDS INSPIRATION FROM 1970’S SOUTH AMERICAN HUSTLERS FOR PRE-FALL COLLECTION

Saturdays NYCIn anticipation of the launch of its pre-fall 2018 collection, surf-inspired menswear brand Saturdays NYC has released its lookbook for the line.

Inspired by the nouveau riche style of South America’s notorious hustlers from the ’70s and ’80s, the collection blends aspirational print pieces like silky camp-collar shirts to more understated styles—like bowling shirts in romantic pastel colorways like dusty rose and stone blue.

Saturdays NYCPrints depicting Monstera leaves and Poppy flowers, often found in the lush South American jungles, adorn popular styles like the Canty shirt and Timothy swim short and are also printed on an array of sweatshirts and t-shirts. The Mateo Modal shirt—a two-tone bowling shirt—and the Jake Polo make a return this season in fabrics luxurious to the touch, like velour and Tencel.

Transitional pieces include the Harrington Pima Jacket, which is made of 100 percent Peruvian Pima cotton, and the Caleb Linen pullover. Rounding out the collection is the versatile Keigo Crepe short—an oversized basketball short made from a cool, crepe fabric and the Ghurka Short—a pleated lightweight linen short.

The collection will be available online and in store at all U.S. Saturdays NYC locations on Thursday, May 10 and worldwide on Friday, May 11.
