SCHMOOZING: ETON CELEBRATES NEW FALL COLLECTION IN FLORENCE
Guests enjoyed passed sushi, mochi ice cream, and a signature Japanese whiskey sour cocktail while mingling and taking in the elegant space.
The event took inspiration from Eton’s new autumn/winter 2018 collection, which incorporates elements of Japanese culture especially the sights and history of the city of Kyoto.
With floral prints, sumo wrestlers and trendy burgundy – this collection will add color, even to the rainiest days. Highlights include a bold colorful Kabuki-inspired print on Eton’s twill, based on late 19th-century woodblock artwork and an army-inspired shirt/jacket hybrid for autumn layering when the temperature drops. For the first time, Eton’s soft flannel now comes with their crease resistant signature finish – available in earthy autumn colors and two eclectic prints: flying birds and foxes.
In addition, the collection contains various sophisticated business looks, with Eton’s highest collar and a dobby fabric in trendy burgundy as well as sharp thick stripes. Inspired by Kinkaku-ji’s gold-leaf coating, Eton used golden embroidered flowers as part of its new take on evening wear. Eton also included its popular zip jacket shirt in two new colors: modern red and classic black.
Among the pocket squares one, in particular, depicts the Ninnaji temple in autumn, made from virgin wool and silk that makes for a soft melange effect. The collection also features a new tie with double-pattern print on Fuji silk, adding an old-school look of elegance with a classic medallion pattern. As the nights get crispier Eton’s range of scarves include light and airy Modal fiber that is mixed with wool, created for an elegant and soft draping.
