SCHMOOZING: ISAIA CELEBRATES OPENING OF MADISON AVENUE FLAGSHIP STORE
Notable retailers, such as Tom Kalendarian, Bruce Pask, Bob Mitchell, Mario Bisio and Jim Murray, joined designer Gianluca Isaia and dozens of fashionably dressed men and women on Wednesday, September 16 as the luxury Italian menswear brand celebrated the opening of its much-heralded New York flagship at 819 Madison Avenue between 68th and 69th Streets.
Guests marveled at the gorgeous assortment of fall/winter clothing, including supple leather jackets, stunning plaid suits, and super-soft cashmere sweaters. But it was the many extraordinary details throughout the 5,400-square-foot, multi-level shop, which is only the company’s second standalone store in the U.S., that were truly breathtaking.
The new store, created by architect Martino Ferrrari in collaboration with Neapolitan interior designer Alberta Saladino, includes a custom-made red glass chandelier from designer Jacopo Foggini, a red lacquer piano, gold-engraved Fontana Arte mirrors, vintage pool tables and a Campari bar. Many visitors also spent much of the balmy evening ensconced on the store’s third-floor terrace, which overlooks Madison Avenue.
